Gregory Roberts is
a Human on Planet Earth.
I am a serial entrepreneur, with 5 startups under my belt (2 with lucrative exits). Dropped out of Carnegie-Mellon to start my first company, RamWorks, a digital marketing agency at age 17. I sold that company 10 years later, in all-cash deal to NYSE:MPS. I then moved from Florida to Silicon Valley, where I, alongside my co-founder Scott Wills, raised a $21 million Series A for one of the first web-based CRM companies, BrightStreet. I am the Primary Inventor of a diverse portfolio of U.S. & international patents. Early Innovator in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, AI, VR, & AR. My team built some of the first AI algorithms on nVidia’s CUDA architecture (PlayMotion, 2007). I designed and co-coded one of the first networked full-body-avatar multiplayer VR games for Oculus (2014). I built prototypes, authored human interface guidelines and best practices for one of the very first Augmented Reality (AR/MR/XR) Operating Systems (Meta, c. 2016). Across my two flagship companies, clients have included Disney, Red Bull, Nike, NASA, Mercedes-Benz, Google and the NFL.
I currently help lead a non-profit (The Healing Entertainment Foundation) that delivers VR headsets to ambulation-challenged populations (in both hospitals and prisons) and their families, enabling them to conceptually escape the sterile confines of their rooms and to authentically connect with their remote family and friends.
I’ve experienced much in the brief 5 decades I’ve explored our common SpaceTime reference, and have much yet to be experienced. Perhaps some of those future experiences will be with you. Who knows?
There was a curious synchronicity between the emergence of modern AI into the public consciousness, and my re-entry into the world of tech from a long sabbatical.
